Home Improvement Loans

Thursday, December 14th, 2006

A home improvement loan is a loan secured on your UK property.

With a home improvement loan, you will be to afford the extension, new kitchen, bathroom, conservatory, landscaped garden, redecoration or other upgrade to your home, so you can add value to your property and save moving costs too.

With a home improvement loan you can often borrow from £7,500 to £75,000 with relatively low monthly repayments compared with other types of loan.
As with any type of mortgage or loan that is secured on your property, think carefully before making a decision and if you are at all unsure about anything it is worth thinking about getting some advice from a mortgage broker or other property professional.

Before you get a home improvement loan, do some research:

Holiday Loans

Wednesday, December 6th, 2006

Holiday season is the time of year we spend the most money.

It’s better not to go into debt, but if you are going to need to spend more money than you currently have, consider taking a personal loan instead of putting the bill on your credit card. The interest rate will be much lower, and you will pay it off faster.

Happy shoppping,

Finding a credit card

Tuesday, December 5th, 2006

Let’s talk about finding a credit card.

Different people could use different cards. Here are some options:

1. If you have an existing debt - take a look at cards that offer 0% on balance transfers. Some offer 0% on purchases too for up to 12 months.

2. If you don’t have a debt and you like to travel - consider getting a card with air miles. You could just end up getting a few free trips to your destination of choice.

3. Some cards offer cashback bonuses. It’s always great to get some extra cash every once in a while.

Before you apply for a credit card, you might just want to take a look at your credit report. It’s free and you might just find out something you didn’t know.

More about credit reports and what they mean - another time.

Enjoy your holiday shopping!
